Summer Bucket list
Today marks the official start of summer 2017! Happy First day of summer everyone!!
Summers for me always seem to go by in the blink of an eye. I always set great expectations and intentions to make the most of summer but then it’s over before I know it. A couple of years ago I had this conversation with a friend of mine about how we never feel like we truly take advantage of the season. So that year I made a summer bucket list. While I didn’t tackle everything on the list. I definitely accomplished more summer activities than I usually do. With that in mind I decided to bring back the summer bucket list this year.
This year’s the list wont just include fun activities like going to the beach and sipping rosé pool side (though there will be plenty of that). I want my list to also include some personal and professional development goals too. The thinking is when I accomplish a non-fun goal I can reward myself with a fun item on the list. I believe sharing goals with others is a good way of holding myself accountable to achieving them. I’ am going to include my bucket list in this post in and over the summer share updates on my progress in accomplishing these items.
I’ll start with the fun list first.
- Go to the beach at least twice a month
- Have a picnic
- Pool day with friends
- Go wine tasting
- Cocktails with friends at my house
- Finish reading all my food magazines
- read at least three good books
- Watch fireworks
- Make ice-cream
- bake at least three pies
The personal/professional development list
- At least one blog post a week
- film at least three more cocktail videos
- Clean out and organize my home office
- Finish kitchen Kon Mari project
- Take a minute of my mile run time
- Meditate daily
- Experiment with new recipes
- Make at least one dish out of every cookbook I own
- Write cookbook reviews
- updated and maintain my bullet journal
So that’s what’ve I got for now, I may add some other items as the weeks go by. I feel like this is great place to start, and I always love having a list. I feel so accomplished when I get to cross items off. I am excited to share my progress with you over the summer. I am also interested to hear what’s on your bucket list for this summer? Leave a comment with what you would like to get out of summer this year, and we can be in this together!
Let the summer fun begin!!
